1. The service

AvoidJunk (“the Service”, “we”) is a product-research tool operated by [TODO: legal operator name] (see the Impressum). It uses large language models to produce structured research briefs for considered purchases on Amazon.de, ranked on an estimated average monthly cost. The Service is currently in an early (v0) stage and is provided on an “as is” basis.

2. Accounts

You sign in with a magic link sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that mailbox secure and for activity under your account.

3. Prepaid balance and fees

  • The Service runs on a prepaid balance. You top up via our payment processor (Stripe) and each analysis draws the balance down.
  • The fee per analysis is the greater of a flat €0.30 baseline or 15% of the underlying AI API cost for that run. The estimated fee is shown before you confirm a run.
  • A run that fails is not charged. A run that completes is charged the actual fee computed from real token usage.
  • New accounts may receive a one-time welcome credit. Credit has no cash value and is not redeemable for money.

4. Refunds

Because each completed analysis consumes paid AI resources immediately, completed runs are non-refundable. 5. Accuracy disclaimer

Results are model estimates, not verified facts. Specs, prices, brand judgments, lifetime assumptions, and the resulting average-monthly-cost figures may be incomplete or wrong. Always verify specifications and prices with the manufacturer and retailer before buying. The Service does not sell products and is not affiliated with Amazon.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service unlawfully, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, or resell its output as independently verified advice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for purchasing decisions made on the basis of the Service or for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these terms or discontinue the Service. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Austria, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. [TODO: confirm jurisdiction with an advisor.]
